Welcome to Morristown

Morristown has always had a special place in my heart. This is where I met the love of my life over 10 years ago and it's where he popped the question... On the corner of Pine and South Street. What more can I say? I love Morristown for its beauty, historic significance and all the great memories it holds.

A few photos from a quick trip to a local park in search for signs of spring but... none were found :-(

Meet Victoria Grace!

Despite the dreadful weather two of our dear friends, Andrew and Arcenia, and their lovely baby girl Victoria, were able to make it to our house earler this afternoon. We had planned Victoria’s 7-month photo shoot for a few weeks and I was thrilled to see that outside conditions did not spoil our plans.
We had a wonderful time and baby Victoria was such a great sport- not a tear in her eye but many smiles and giggles.
Here is a little preview from today’s session.

The first day of Spring?

I could not believe my eyes when I woke up this morning. Snow?? On the first day of Spring?? Really?? I did not expect it. Winter does not want to leave quitely.
I must admit, however, there is something magical about snow-covered trees... Here are some photos I snapped from my window earlier today.

Dress Making

I must admit that my interest in art does not end with photography. I have always been into all the 'craftsy' things like drawing, painting, and some ‘domestic arts‘ like knitting, crotcheting and sewing. The latter has occupied some of my free time lately, along with numerous trips to the local fabric store. I am including a few images of my latest creation below. When I came across this fabric I knew I had to have it. It’s so feminine and so gorgeous I immediately thought of Michael Kors‘ floral dress from his Fall 2008 collection (yes, a little past season but very flattering). My dress isn’t an exact replica but an inspiration of the above. I am definitely not a master at this and have not been trained at all but somehow I managed to put it together and I think it came out nicely (just don’t ask me for the dress patterns- none exist ;-). I am thinking of taking up some sewing and design lessons in the near future.

This dress is the third one I am adding to my do-it-yourself dress collection =)
Now, off to looking for my next inspiration.... Ciao!

Photo shoot last month

A couple of weeks ago along with the lovely Mariah Seminara of Life in Motion Photography based in Mendham, NJ, I participated in a photo shoot for a new hair and makeup salon in Morristown, NJ. As a matter of fact, the salon’s official opening will be on April 30th.
The beautiful and talented Jackie Cicala, is the owner of Blowout Salon and very creative Brian Hildebrand will be the salon‘s hair stylist.

I have worked with both of them, as well as with Mariah, on numerous occasions in the past. I have included some of the images in the Portfolio section of my site. This time they decided to decorate the walls of their salon with images of their own makeup and hair creations. Therefore, models were brought in, hair and makeup was done, and photographers were hired.
Also part of the shoot... trashing the gown! Yes, a wedding gown was destroyed by our little model and some chocolate syrup.
Here are a few images from 'Behind the Scene' of the shoot last month.
