French press brewing is one of my favorite ways to make coffee.

A couple of years ago my hubby and I stumbled upon a small coffee place called Porto Rico located in Greenwich Village NY, and have been drinking their coffee ever since. Check out their website and the wide variety of flavored coffee you can order right there or stop by one of their shops in NYC!

If you love good coffee as much as we do, you will enjoy french press brewing.
This is how we do it:

~ Fill a kettle with cold water and boil it ~

~ Remove the lid and filter/plunger assembly from the pot ~

~ Measure coffee into the French Press ~
It is recommended using 2 tablespoons of coffee for every cup (8 oz.) of water- adjust to taste.

~ Pour water evenly over ground coffee to the desired level ~ Use water that is slightly cooler than boiling~

~ Stir to make sure the hot water gets to every bit ~

~ Replace the lid and filter/plunger assembly- do not press down yet ~

~ Steep for 4 minutes or longer for a stronger brew ~

~ Once the coffee has steeped, hold the lid with one hand, and using slow, steady pressure depress the plunger keeping the rod upright ~ Wait about 30 seconds for the sediment to settle in the pot ~

~ Your coffee is ready to pour ~

~ Voilà! Fresh, delicious coffee ~

New York City Weekend

It was a beautiful summer weekend in the greatest city in the world.

We stopped by the street fair on 6th Avenue last Saturday, grabbed a quick bite to eat and wandered the streets of Midtown enjoying the perfect summer weather.

5 Months

Sam is 5 months old today!

She has grown so much and not only discovered her feet but also learned how to roll over on her tummy :-)
Her smile is the best thing to wake up to every morning. It's so precious!

Here are a few photos of Samantha I would like to share with you.
