Due to the pandemic Staci + John had to change their wedding plans quite a bit. 

They decided to keep their original date and get married in an intimate backyard ceremony surrounded by their families and closest friends. 

And what a beautiful day it turned out to be!

One year later they got to celebrate it big with a reception at Martell's Waters Edge. 

And they let nothing stop them from having the best time, not even the rain!

Part 1 - Backyard Ceremony

Jillian + Tom • Jersey City Engagement Session

• NEW JERSEY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER •

Last September I met with Jill and Tom for their engagement session at Van Vorst Park in Jersey City.

They both thought it would be fun to go back to the spot where Tom popped the question a year earlier. 

After spending some time at the park, we drove to the waterfront where Jill and Tom picked up their Frenchie, Gracie, so she could join us for a few portraits there.

How They Met

'We met out at South House in Jersey City. Mutual friends of ours ( John, Ariana, & Maddie) invited us both out one note. Our friends had a feeling we would hit it off & the rest is history :)

Our first date was at the Penrose on the Upper East Side (where Jill was living at the time), we spent the night drinking cocktails and getting to know each other.'

The Proposal

'Tom proposed to Jill in Van Vorst park in Jersey City (where we live) in September 2020. During quarantine, Van Vorst Park became one our favorite parks to walk through which made it the perfect place to propose. Both of our families were hiding out in the bushes to capture the moment and surprise Jill. Afterwards our families went out to dinner together in Jersey City to celebrate.'

 Jill & Tom spent the week down in Avalon & Cape May soaking in the engagement. :)

Favorite Things To Do Together

Travel, raise our Frenchie (Gracie), try new restaurants, explore Jersey City/ Manhattan, take Trips down the Jersey Shore and Spend time with Friends & Family.

Jill about Tom: 'I love that Tom is kind, genuine, caring, funny, and smart. He always pushes me to be the best version of myself and makes me feel at ease. From the beginning, he always made sure I was taken care of as he would drive an hour up to the Upper East Side when he was living in NJ to pick me up so I wouldn't have to take the subway alone. He also instantly bonded with my family and close friends - which meant so much to me. I'm excited to marry him and see what our future has in store. :)'

Tom about Jill:  'I love Jill's kindness, humor, adventurous attitude to travel to new places & try new things, laidback manner, and her fun loving spirit. Jill is always so much fun to be around and lights up a room, we've shared so many fun memories traveling, sharing new experiences, raising our puppy together- I can't wait to create more memories together.'

Desirèe + Thomas • The Appalachian At Mountain Creek Wedding • New Jersey Wedding Photographer

I am so excited to share Desirèe and Thomas' wedding at Mountain Creek Resort!

Despite unusually cold and rainy May weather, we made it to the top of the mountain in one of the gondolas. With the absolutely breathtaking views as a backdrop, Desirèe and Thomas did their first look and posed for a few portraits afterwards.

Due to the weather their ceremony was moved inside. It was filled with so much love and joy!

Following cocktail hour, the celebration of the newlyweds continued with a night of eating, drinking and dancing. And they sure know how to party!

Samantha is 10!

One decade ago our life changed in the most wonderful way!

Steve and I became parents to a beautiful baby girl. 

Long awaited, she was finally here! We could finally hold her in our arms!

Nothing else existed in that moment!

She made me a mother! She made Steve a father! 

It's hard to believe our baby girl is no longer a baby :(

As she enters double digits (as she calls it), we are so proud of the person she has become. Independent and so mature, she would live on her own if she could ;)

She's still so sweet and kind, Samantha made us so proud when we heard how helpful she was towards her classmates, always ready to jump in when someone did not quite get that last math equation. "It's like having an assistant"- as her teacher described it. 

She decided she no longer wanted to dance (after 6 years), and instead started to play tennis. 

Not a bad trade off ;)

Her love of singing and acting continues with three concerts and two musical theater performances under her belt! Where does she get the courage from, I have no clue! (Steve, perhaps?)

And today, Samantha turns 10!!! 

One amazing decade! She brings so much joy into our life and we feel so blessed to be her parents!

We are so excited to see what the future holds for her!
