It was a sunny September weekend. The air still felt like summer when my husband and I along with Samantha and a couple of our close friends traveled to Rhode Island for a weekend getaway.
Located on the southern end of Aquidneck Island, Rhode Island, Newport is a beautiful seaside city famous for its mansions, shopping and scenery.
Cobblestone streets, brick sidewalks, interesting shops and galleries, along with great restaurants all accent an upscale downtown area located along water.
Through the years Newport has been considered the playground for the American socialite families such as Vanderbilt and Astor, as a key location for the United States Navy, and then as the yachting capital of the world.
One afternoon we took a stroll on the Newport Cliff Walk which is considered one of the most popular attractions in the city. It is a 3.5 mile public access walkway bordering the shoreline, and has been designated a National Recreation Trail. It is one of the most scenic trails in all of New England with its spectacular ocean views and legendary mansions.
Welcome to Newport...
