Carey + Christian • Princeton University Engagement • New Jersey Wedding Photographer

It was my very first time photographing at Princeton University campus and I am totally in love! There are so many amazing spots for photos and the architecture is just stunning! 

I first met Carey and Christian at Carey's sister's wedding earlier this year (see it here: Maegan + Ryan). I was so excited when Christian proposed to Carey and they asked me to be their wedding photographer! Such an honor!!

HOW THEY MET 

"We met at The College of New Jersey where we both went for our bachelor degrees. We had some mutual friends and we were active in the same Christian organization on campus. Christian was two years older than me and we really didn't start hanging out until his senior year. Christian made it seem platonic but clearly he had different intentions!"

HOW HE PROPOSED

"We went on a sunrise hike at High Mountain in North Haledon, NJ right near Christian's grandparents. From the summit, you can see clear views of NYC and it provides breathtaking views with the sun rising behind the buildings. This place was significant for Christian because it was where his parents got engaged 30 years ago. We sat on one of the rock outcrops overlooking the city when Christian asked me to stand up and then he got down on one knee. The rest was history."

Carey + Christian tied the knot this November! I cannot wait to share their gorgeous wedding very soon. In the meantime, enjoy so many favorites from their engagement session at Princeton University.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from The de Myers! 

Jack is 7!

Seven years ago we were blessed with the sweetest gift! 

Jack fills our life with so much joy and silliness. He still loves his Legos and builds something every day, whether it's the blocks, paper or cardboard boxes. He loves to create!

I am not going to lie, this year has been challenging for all of us but the kids seem to have adjusted pretty well to the "new" reality. Jack is a homebody and did not mind being home when the pandemic forced us to isolate. He did start missing his friends eventually and was ready for playdates!

Jack finally lost his first tooth this year and a couple more followed. He's getting so tall soon he will catch up to his sister!

He's a fast learner and he seems to really like math (taking after his mama 🤓) He loves music and dancing, and wants to play piano. 

Chess, monopoly and connect four are his favorite games. And doing puzzles 😊 He loves riding his bike and playing outside with his friends. 

The way he says "mama" still melts my heart, and I love when he asks me to snuggle before he falls asleep. 

Happy 7th Birthday, Jack!

Maegan + Ryan • Crossed Keys Estate Wedding • New Jersey Wedding Photographer

Maegan & Ryan's micro wedding at Crossed Keys Estate in Andover, New Jersey was an absolute dream! 

Things did not go as originally planned for Maegan + Ryan as they had to cancel their plans for a big wedding this past June. However, they did keep their original date, downsized and tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in one of the most beautiful venues in New Jersey! 

I must say Crossed Keys Estate was the ideal choice and everything seemed to have aligned so perfectly. 

Maegan + Ryan are two of the sweetest, kindest people I know, and I am so happy they were able to become husband and wife despite the pandemic! They celebrated with their families and closest friends -  only 25 guests were allowed at the time.

Congratulations, Maegan + Ryan!

Ahhh... beach sessions! If you have followed me long enough you know how much I love them! 

And I must say that this family holds a special place in my heart!
I have captured some amazing milestones for Katie & Clint - from their wedding day to their first baby boy to now becoming a family of four!

Vicky + Tony • Morristown Engagement Session • New Jersey Wedding Photographer

Once I heard Vicky & Tony's story I knew we were meant to work together!

Their love story revolves around Morristown (like mine!)- their first date was there (and on my birthday!), and that is where Tony popped the question!
So much in common!

I had so much fun getting to know them while capturing some special moments at their engagement session. And they had a blast practicing all the poses before their big day next June!

Here's their love story: 

HOW THEY MET

Vicky and Tony first met in 2017 at the physical therapy clinic where Tony worked. Vicky and Tony got to know each other over the course of 6 months when she would come in for treatment.
"We bonded over our mutual love for all things fitness and nutrition as well as electronic dance music."

THEIR FIRST DATE

"Our first date was on 4/21/18. We went to TOWN Bar and Kitchen in Morristown, NJ. We had both been wanting to try this restaurant for a while, so it was a perfect spot for our first date. After dinner we walked up to South Street Social to continue our date."

THE PROPOSAL

"We got engaged on 1/11/20. Tony set up a scavenger hunt at all of our favorite spots in Morristown and it culminated where we had our first date and after Tony asked me to marry him, we went to into TOWN and enjoyed a wonderful dinner with both of our families."

Vicky and Tony love to cook together, go on walks, and attend EDM shows.

Vicky's favorite thing about Tony is how patient he is with her and how he really helps to calm her down when she feels stressed. She said: "Tony is the most understanding and supportive person and I am so grateful to have him in my life." 

Tony: "I love Vic's passion for what she does. I love how intelligent and well-read she is. I love her authenticity, how she isn't afraid to be herself. Most of all I love her ability to communicate. I always know what she thinks, how she feels and we are able to effectively accomplish both major and minor life decisions every day together."

It has been truly heartwarming to watch my children adore their father. 

The never ending: 'Daddy, what is...?', 'Daddy, who is...?', 'Daddy, but how come...?' answered patiently and in the most fun way. 

Pancake making mornings and late night story telling, walks around the neighborhood, and board game playing! 

I don't mind that he is their favorite parent at times... because he is my favorite, too! 

Steve is my favorite person to do this parenting thing with!

I was super excited when Brian reached out to me to schedule their family/maternity session! 

I cannot believe it's been almost 4 years since I photographed him and his wife, Amy, expecting their son, Teddy, who, by the way, is the cutest little guy!

We met at the historic Waterloo Village for their session. It is such a beautiful location with so many great spots for photos. Teddy had so much fun exploring the park and posing for the camera!

It was such a pleasure photographing Tara & Jason's Ryland Inn wedding alongside Jackie Averill last September.
Their day was filled with so many beautiful details, lush florals, and so much love!
The couple exchanged their vows in an outdoor ceremony surrounded by their families and friends.

Quite frankly, I don't even remember what life felt like before them.

Motherhood may be stressful, intense, overwhelming, and HARD (especially this year 😳), 

but it brings so much joy and fulfillment at the same time. 

Nothing can compare to their smiles and hugs!!

Maegan + Ryan • Cross Estate Gardens Engagement Session • New Jersey Wedding Photographer

This fun engagement session took place at Cross Estate Gardens - one of my favorite places in the area with so many beautiful spots to shoot in!
Maegan and Ryan are so sweet together and I really enjoyed getting to know them.

They even brought along their pup, Colby, for a few shots.

HOW THEY MET

'We officially met for the first time on Ryan's first day of his full-time job. We work in the same department and our cubicles share a wall! Coincidentally, we both went to the same school, Moravian College. We may have had a class or two together but never officially met until we started working together!'

THEIR FIRST DATE

'We didn't start dating until a few years after we started working together. Our first official date was at a restaurant in Bethlehem.'

HOW HE PROPOSED

'We had been working crazy hours around Christmas time and Ryan had planned for a Friday night off to relax. We went to our favorite restaurant in downtown Bethlehem for dinner. Afterwards, Ryan had suggested walking around Main Street to see the Christmas lights. He popped the question under the beautiful awning of the entrance to the Historic Hotel Bethlehem.'

In their free time Maegan and Ryan love to take their puppy out for walks, go out to their favorite restaurants, work on their house together, and catch up on their favorite shows.

Maegan loves that Ryan is such a romantic. He always has something sweet to say. Ryan is a hard worker, he is loving and kind.

Ryan loves that his fiancé is sweet and beautiful and has kind heart. She means well in everything that she does.

Katie + John • The Stone House At Stirling Ridge Wedding • New Jersey Wedding Photographer

Katie and John's winter wedding was filled with so many beautiful details.
Custom designed invitations by Stephanie Tara Stationery must have been some of my favorite details to photograph along with Katie's super chic Ted Baker shoes.

After Katie & John's first look at Watchung Lake Park we headed to The Stone House At Stirling Ridge for their portraits, photos with their wedding party, and family formals.

The couple exchanged their vows in an indoor ceremony in front of a huge Christmas tree! It was officiated by Katie's Uncle Eddie. What a special moment it was!

Their reception room was filled with lush greenery and winter accents, beautifully designed and executed by David Mitchell Fine Event Design.
The celebration of The New Mr. & Mrs. Fleury continued with a night of dancing, eating and drinking!

Katie & John are two of the kindest people I have ever met! It was such an incredible pleasure and honor to be part of their wedding day!

Amy + Barry • The Ryland Inn Wedding • New Jersey Wedding Photographer

This late summer wedding included a few hints of fall colors- the bridesmaids dresses and the gorgeous bouquets brought in those early autumn feels. 

Amy and Barry exchanged their vows in an outdoor ceremony at The Ryland Inn surrounded by their family and friends. 

Their reception room was filled with lush greenery, candles and gorgeous floral centerpieces.

Brenna + Kevin • Bear Creek Mountain Resort Wedding • New Jersey Wedding Photographer

It may have been a chilly November afternoon but the cold did not stop Brenna and Kevin from having an outdoor ceremony at Bear Creek Mountain Resort in Lehigh Valley, PA.
Their guests braved the cold as the couple exchanged their vows under a gorgeous floral arch by Pink Dahlia Floral & Event Design.

The ceremony was followed by a night of dancing and celebrating the New Mr. & Mrs. Lewis!
